Baron Davis is a two-time NBA All-Star and starting point guard for the New York Knicks. A native of Los Angeles, Baron grew up in South Central living with his grandmother Madea.

He began playing basketball at age 3 on a court his grandfather built for him. His passion for the sport continued throughout his youth. With hard work and dedication Baron went on to play at Crossroads High School where he accumulated a myriad of honors, including McDonalds All-American and Gatorade Player of the Year.

After graduating from high school, Baron attended UCLA where he was a first-team All-American. In 1999, after his sophomore year, the Charlotte Hornets drafted him in the first round as the third pick.

Baron began Rising Stars of America in recognition of and in an effort to give young people the opportunities he was given opportunities that changed the course of his life.

Along with the Traveling AAU Club Teams , Basketball Camp, Tournaments, and Bridging Communities programs, Baron is working on expanding Rising Stars to include programs for success by providing academic support, one-on-one mentoring, and healthy eating - healthy living regimens.
